The Whitman facility has become LPS's comprehensive alternative education site.  The Pathways program, which serves 7th through 9th grade students which was housed at the North facility has been relocated to Whitman.  Two classes at Options, LPS’ alternative high school serving 10th through 12th graders, are now held at Whitman, as well.  The Pathways and Options programs will have the added benefits of a larger computer lab and a library.  The computer lab is also used for evening training sessions.  In addition, Littleton Soccer will call Whitman its center of operations and will move its offices there.

“Moving Pathways to the Whitman facility is a good move for both Pathways and the Village Preschool, which is also housed at North. Moving Pathways to Whitman separates it from the preschool and allows each to expand,” said Murphy.  “Littleton Soccer has been a valuable partner with some of our elementary schools, bringing soccer to their school communities and increasing parent participation in education in the process.  We look forward to expanding our relationship with them in the future.”

The repurposing of Whitman has been cost-neutral to LPS other than minor expenses moving furniture, equipment, and materials to Whitman.  For more information about the Whitman Facility, call 303-347-3300.
