Budget Matter$

(January 2010)  Like many other districts in Colorado, Littleton Public Schools has had to reduce its budget every year for a number of years due to a smaller student population and increasing costs. In 2008, the nation’s economy suffered and Colorado was affected as well.

As a result, LPS had to reduce its budget by $6.5 million for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 school years.  These cuts came on the heels of millions in additional cuts in previous years.  Now, due to the state's economic downturn, K-12 education is being cut drastically, and LPS will have to reduce its budget by as much as $9.5 million for school year 2010-2011.
